Teacher's guide
How to run the scene in a lesson, the language it practises and what to do next.
In an online lesson
- Share your screen in Explore and mime each action as the scene plays it. Then mime one yourself and ask “What am I doing?” before the child taps.
- In My morning in order, the child says each step before tapping: “First, I wake up.” Ask “What do you do next?” and wait for the answer.
- In Listen & find, turn the labels off. The child does the action first (brushes, washes, stretches), then taps the picture.
- In Sing along, the child mimes each step as it is sung (stretch, splash, brush, put on a shirt, walk to school). Use Repeat after me to practise the “I …” lines, then ask “What do you do in the morning?”
In the classroom
- On an interactive whiteboard, go full screen: one child taps the next step, the whole class mimes it and says the sentence.
- Make it a Simon says game: “Brush your teeth!” — children mime it, then a volunteer finds the picture on the board.
- Ask children to draw their own morning in six boxes and tell a partner: “First I wake up, then I get up.”
- Sing it as the hello song at the start of a morning lesson: you sing the questions, the class answers with the “I …” lines and the mime. Once they know it, sing it on Normal and let a child be the teacher.
