How many new words should one lesson have?
Six is the honest limit for young learners — fewer for three-year-olds. A pack of twelve words is two lessons plus a review, not one heroic hour.
Which game works best for the very first meeting with a word?
Flip cards. Picture first, the child guesses, flip to check — it introduces without testing. Save memory and bingo for the second and third meeting, when there is something to recall.
