Transcript
Tenant: Hi, Mr Grant? It's Lucy from flat three.
Landlord: Oh, hello Lucy. Is everything all right?
Tenant: Not really, I'm afraid. The heating stopped working last night, and there's no hot water either.
Landlord: Oh no. Have you checked the boiler? Sometimes there's a fault and you just need to press reset.
Tenant: Yes, I tried that. I pressed the reset button twice, but a red light keeps flashing.
Landlord: Right, that doesn't sound good. I'll call the engineer this morning. Will you be at home today?
Tenant: I'm working until five, but my flatmate is working from home, so she can let him in.
Landlord: Perfect. I'll send you a message when I know what time he's coming.
Tenant: Thanks. It's freezing in here, though. Is there anything we can do in the meantime?
Landlord: There's an electric heater in the cupboard under the stairs. You're welcome to use that.
Tenant: Oh, I didn't know that. That's great.
Landlord: And if the engineer can't fix it today, I'll take something off this month's rent.
Tenant: That's really kind of you. Thanks, Mr Grant.
