Calm bubble

After the running game, before the writing — the two minutes where a class either settles or doesn't. Put the bubble on the screen and breathe with it: it grows for four counts, shrinks for four, and the room goes quiet because everybody is watching the same thing. The flower pattern adds a hold in the middle (smell the flower, blow the candle), and the star is for the children who need something to trace with a finger. It starts silent, and stays silent unless you ask for the chime.

❓ Questions teachers ask
Does it make a noise?
Not unless you turn the sound on. A calming tool that pings at you is not calming, so it starts silent; the switch adds one soft note at each change of phase and a little chime at the end.
How long should a breathing break be?
One minute is usually enough between two activities, and it is the setting the tool opens on. Two or three suit the end of a wild lesson. There is also an “until I stop it” option for the days when the class needs longer.
What if a child gets dizzy or does not want to join in?
Let them breathe normally and simply watch the bubble — the point is the pause, not the counting. Nobody should be pushed to breathe deeper than is comfortable, and a child who feels light-headed should stop and sit still for a moment.
