How to play

  1. Ask the fox to listen to the room, and allow the microphone.

  2. It only measures how loud the room is — nothing is recorded.

  3. Stay quiet and he sleeps on; a little noise and an ear twitches.

  4. Too loud, and he wakes with a start.

  5. Set how lightly he sleeps: library, normal, or party day.

  6. No microphone? A pretend-noise mode runs the whole thing by hand.

Variations

Three ways to play it differently once the class knows the rules.

  1. Library or party day

Choose library for silent reading — a whisper wakes him — or party day, when only a real shout will.

  2. Pretend noise

No microphone, or not allowed to use one? Pretend-noise mode lets you move the meter by hand.

  3. With the hourglass

Turn the Moon Hourglass in another tab: the class wins if the fox is still asleep at the gong.
