How to play

  1. A card flips up with one action on it.

  2. The monkey shows how, and the ring counts it down.

  3. Everyone copies it — no turns, no waiting.

  4. Pause, skip or add time whenever you need to.

  5. The last card is always a calm one, so they can sit back down.

Variations

Three ways to play it differently once the class knows the rules.

  1. Calm down

After break time, pick the Calm down deck: two minutes down to quiet, ending on breathing.

  2. Act the word

Choose the act-the-word deck, and the moves become the words the class is learning.

  3. Say it as you do it

Everybody says the action while doing it — I'm jumping, I'm spinning — so the break is speaking practice too.
