Teacher guide · Deck of Wonders
Picture flashcards that say the word aloud, with a pile that shrinks as they learn.
Open the gameChoose a subject and summon the deck.
Decide which side shows first — the picture, or the word.
Tap the card, it turns right over, and the word is said aloud.
Keep the ones they know; the rest go back into the pile.
When the last card goes, the deck is finished — deal another.
Three ways to play it differently once the class knows the rules.
With readers, show the word side first and let them read it before the card turns to the picture.
Say each word three ways — whispered, loud, then sung — and one card gives three repetitions.
The class says each word before anyone taps the horn; then tap it to hear the word and check.
Each one opens Deck of Wonders with that pack already loaded.
