How to use it in class

  1. Who calls. Call the first round yourself from the caller's checklist: say each word twice, don't show the picture, tick it as you go. From round two the winner calls — the list has pictures, so non-readers can call too.

  2. How to mark. Counters, not pencils: buttons or scraps of paper on the squares — or slip each card into a plastic sleeve and use a whiteboard pen. Clear the card, swap with a neighbour, and one printout lasts all week.

  3. Ending fast. Three in a row wins, checked out loud: the winner says their three words in English while you find them on your list. Out of time? Stop at the first winner. Time to spare? Play on for a full card.
