How to use it in class
Do number 1 together. Show the first picture, say the word, count its boxes with the class and write it on the board in capitals. Now everyone knows: the picture is the clue, the boxes are the spelling.
A word bank, only where needed. Give the children who need it a slip of paper with the answers jumbled. They still have to match picture, word and boxes; everyone else works without it.
Two versions, no copying. Print, press “New puzzle”, print again: children sitting together get different grids built from the same words. With “Answer key” ticked, each version prints its own solved grid.
