Half the arguments in a team game happen before it starts, over who is with whom. The team maker settles that in one tap and takes the blame with it — the computer chose, not the teacher.
After that, keep the score on screen. A visible number turns a vocabulary review into something children ask to finish.

How do I make teams without hurting anyone's feelings?
Never pick captains who choose. Type the names once and let the team maker shuffle — random is the only division a child accepts without reading anything into it.
The losing team gives up halfway. What now?
Add a round worth double, announced late. Or reset the score and play a best-of-three — short games with fresh starts keep everyone in it far better than one long one.
Can I run team games with only four students?
Two pairs works fine, and so does three against the teacher. Below four, switch to the scoreboard with individual names — the visible number matters more than the teams.
