Back to school — English games for kids

The Back to School topic gives you 16 concrete, drawable, act-out-able words — ideal game material for young learners. Below: the full word list, five ways to play it (each opens a game with this topic already loaded), and the printables for offline lessons.
A word becomes the child's own after roughly seven meetings. One topic, several different games — that's how the meetings happen without a single drill.
The words (16)
- 🎒 backpack — рюкзак
- 🍱 lunchbox — ланчбокс
- 👝 pencil case — пенал
- 📅 timetable — расписание
- 🚌 bus — автобус
- 🧑🏫 teacher — учитель
- 🧑🤝🧑 friend — друг
- 🏫 classroom — класс
- 📓 notebook — тетрадь
- ✏️ pencil — карандаш
- 🍎 apple — яблоко
- 🔔 bell — звонок
- 👕 uniform — форма
- ⏰ alarm clock — будильник
- 🖍️ crayon — мелок
- 📏 ruler — линейка
Five ways to play them
- Memory Match — picture↔word pairs from the Back to School set; every flip is said aloud. Two-player mode for student vs teacher.
- Bingo — you call the words, kids hunt their cards: listening practice with a winner's shout at the end.
- Flip Cards — the deck on screen: picture first, the child names it, flip to check. Great for the first meeting with the words.
- Word Scramble — the topic's shorter words, letter by letter: spelling dressed as a puzzle.
- Balloon Words — save the word before the balloons fly away: the alphabet drill children ask to repeat.
Print & go
For offline lessons (or online students with a printer), the same Back to School words come as A4 printables: cut-out flashcards with three label options, a one-page poster for the wall, unique bingo sheets with a caller's list, and a matching worksheet with an upside-down answer key.
Take this with you
One topic, 16 words, five games and four printables: enough material for two or three lessons plus the review that makes it stick. Pick six words to master per lesson — the rest will follow.
Put it into play
Everything here pairs with our free classroom games — no prep, no accounts.
